Have you ever wanted to try improv? Here is your opportunity! Irony
City holds free, monthly improv workshops open to improvisers of all
experience levels -- from beginners to experienced players.
The workshops focus on using and developing principles of listening,
true reactions, and building on existing offers to create scenes
collaboratively. We do this through a series of low-pressure group
games, exercises, and scenes that tend to be a lot of fun in addition
to creating good work.
For more information, visit our Meetup or check out one of our upcoming workshops (to the right). Here's what some past attendees have to say: - "This would be an excellent practice for anyone with the interest and dedication to try improve, from beginning actors, to public speakers, or even someone who wants to push the limits of personal expression or listening skills."
- “It's lots of fun, educational, and you meet awesome people."
- "To learn (by practice) more about the various ways improv can help in
daily life: listening, focusing, yielding, seizing the opportunities
that the moment provides. Because it's all about interacting with
others, it's useful all over the place!
Besides, it's fun."
- "It's really great for a beginner to be able to go through warm-ups that prepare us for increasingly challenging games."
